Alice and Faiz

A note to parents. This story is sad and very small children may find it upsetting. Everyone needs to learn to read because, through increasing literacy, we can help prevent human smuggling and other social problems which take advantage of those who are ill-informed.
The story is based on truth but the names have been changed and any resemblance to anyone living or dead is purely co-incidental.
This story is not really suitable for very young children at all. It has been designed to assist older children, ESL students and teenagers by providing exciting and interesting reading material complete with pictures. Most exciting stories do not have written text these days so they don't help people learn to read.
Parents, if you really must read it to a younger child and I don't recommend it, I suggest that, when you get to pages 15 to 16, you modify the story just a little. You could say that Faiz didn't die but was just injured.
I'll try to write something a little more suitable for younger readers next time.
